United Baristas unveils Workshop – a resource to help baristas and coffee businesses better maintain their coffee equipment

London, United Kingdom • United Baristas Newsroom

United Baristas, the digital platform providing market-leading services for the coffee industry, launches United Baristas Workshop.

Workshop is unique because it collates the best information on servicing and maintaining specialty coffee equipment from baristas, engineers, resellers and brands into one easy-to-use, online resource for the coffee community.

Unfortunately, too much equipment is not in a good state of repair

There are now thousands of high-quality espresso machines and grinders in use across the United Kingdom, but many are falling into a poor state of repair due to a lack of knowledge around cleaning and maintenance and ready access to engineering services.

Poor maintenance reduces coffee quality, increases running costs, makes businesses prone to losing revenue from unforeseen breakdowns, and increases the industry’s environmental impacts.

United Baristas Workshop is a handy, reliable resource

Workshop aims to keep more equipment in working order by educating baristas and business on what maintenance they need to do, and how they can do it. It also provides a comprehensive directory of the best coffee equipment engineers in the United Kingdom.

If the original challenge for United Baristas was to keep machines in use across their potential working life, the next is to ensure that this equipment is better maintained across its entire lifetime.

Notes to Editors

United Baristas started four years ago with a Marketplace for baristas and businesses to buy and sell used coffee equipment. The key objective was to facilitate the sale of used coffee equipment so that it would remain in use throughout its full working life. The service has been a success for the coffee industry with hundreds of machines kept in use, with all the personal, commercial and environmental benefits that ensue.

Over that time United Baristas has expanded its services to include United Baristas Careers, a recruitment platform, and United Baristas Business, which connects buyers with sellers of coffee businesses.
